great memoir
I do not usually read a lot of memoirs, but this one struck me as a really unique premise and I ended up being so glad that I gave it a chance! I don't agree with everything the author said, or all of her opinions, but I thought it was a very compelling writing style and gave me a perspective into a journey through life that is completely unlike anything I have personally experienced. In my opinion, that's the best thing a memoir can do--give you a window into another person's experience, regardless of whether you can see yourself living their life or have any common basis from which to judge their decisions and reactions. I also learned a lot about the types of relationships that develop among military spouses--that was my favorite part of the book, because it's something I have always wondered about and thought would be an incredibly bonding experience!
