This debut by these two women is a not-so-romance, more of a story of a scary yet complicating love triangle. Told in the point of view of ex-wife Vanessa whose husband, Richard, leaves her. He is being remarried to a younger woman. And Vanessa is not happy about it. The book will cause a lot of assumptions to think whether Vanessa is jealous, or very obsessed with the new engagement. What I know is she wants to put a stop to it.

With this being co-written, in the first half of the book I was lucky to identify who could have been writing what part. I got put in my place on one big twist like it was shot in the chest. Praise for that one. However, as the narrative went on, I then identified alternative scenes going back and forth rapidly, when I thought I was being focused on one main situation of the love triangle that is getting out of hand. Unless maybe this background scene of Vanessa's marriage with Richard is providing that leads to Vanessa worrying too much about the new engagement. A lot of them had been in one chapter. And I went slow as I was losing track and had to think about where the alternative started at as it happened again. So, being this is a debut, and a decent work, if I could honestly put out what could have been done better, really have the scenes split rather than cluttering it all together. What I wanted was to decide in the end who can be trusted. Or in the worse case scenario, none could. I felt I had to push myself through it, and when I do that, it's a possible red flag in my reading.
