Nellie is marrying Richard. part one alternates between Vanessa and Nellie’s perspectives. part one ends in a twist that I failed to predict. part two ends in another twist. part three is where the content warning is especially necessary. so many twists and turns in this one. yet, everything fits together. seemingly small details from previous chapters frequently reappear in glaring form. thoroughly engaging from beginning to end. when I read the epilogue I remarked aloud, “well done.” to which my husband replied, “g-d I love you.” I did prefer ANONYMOUS GIRL tbh. in it, Dr. Shields seemed realistic & well-rounded. whereas in THE WIFE BETWEEN US I never fully understood Richard. And if I ever understood him a tiny bit, he seemed like a cliche.
