This is a book that's best to go into completely blind. By reading the description, you'd think you have everything figured out...it's the same old story about a wife who's been replaced by the younger, more beautiful version of her, and of course, the spurned wife must seek revenge.

This book was so much more. This story is told in alternating viewpoints of Vanessa, the first wife, and Nellie, the new wife. The common bond here is Richard, the handsome, wealthy, attentive husband. Almost immediately you find that Vanessa has some issues and is responsible for the demise of her marriage to Richard. Nellie wonders how any woman could be foolish enough to let Richard go, but has some demons from her past and starts receiving unsettling phone calls once she starts seeing Richard. The reader likely feels as though it's Vanessa, but is Richard all that he seems?
To me, this was the perfect model of a great psychological thriller!
