This book follows two women in vastly different stages of their lives. One is in love with the man she is about to marry. She has a job as a teacher and has girlfriends to share her happiness with. The other is no longer married and struggling. She lives with her aunt, has a bit of a drinking problem, is barely holding on to her job, and has no friends left to speak to.
I think what the writers do so well is tell two complete stories, each following one of these women. Eventually we are able to figure out how each woman got to such a point in their life. And that's exactly what we want to know: how did she get here? But along the way, the writers get us to make assumptions about what we think is going on...
