I was a little unsure of this book at first, as it seems the typical jealous ex-wife that wants revenge on the hussy that stole her husband. She's living with an elderly family member, she drinks too much, she's depressed and missing work, while the new girlfriend seems to have it all. Then the story morphs into something resembling the film "The Girl on the Train." We see a complete turn-around that has us all second guessing what we know of the characters and the story. I found myself going back a few chapters to double-check information that wasn't there, only to find that more revelations are revealed further into the novel. All single women should read this book as a warning that things are not always what they seem. If someone is willing to question motivations on your behalf, then you should as well. I like the message about not losing yourself to appease someone else, as you never know just how far it will take you.
