¾ of the way through this book and I was thinking “wow” but the last ¼ sent me on a downward spiral. Seriously? This book has already been done if you read a current book about marriage (no spoilers) yet the authors delighted in throwing in twists to outmaneuver the last twist. I laughed at one point and not in a good way. I pictured the “two” authors slugging back one margarita after another and thinking, “Let’s add in one more thing.” It’s too much. I give it three stars for the first ¾ of the book. This book could have been so much better. I love the initial concept and I love the set up to the story, it just went too far in the end. Finally, when the book recommendation states that this is the next “Gone Girl,” I instantly cringe. How many Gone Girls can we have? Publishers please stop this! A book should stand on its own merit. If you like more of the same…then read this one.
