The first third or so of the book was... I hate to say it, dull. But then the first twist happened and it picked up pretty quickly after that. The last two thirds were full of mystery and suspense.
This is the type of book that you need to go into without any prior knowledge so I don’t want to write too much about the actual plot.
What I can say is that it has a basis premise that is familiar to everyone: wife, husband mistress. But it goes off the rails from there, each sordid twist worse than the last.
The characters were variable, I loved some, hated many and was ehh about a bunch. However I did find the relationships between them all to be really intriguing and that made the twists even more shocking.
Assume nothing, suspect everyone and you’ll do just fine with this book.
I am really excited to read the authors next book, hopefully it will have just as many twists!
