Whoa. If I was watching this play out in person, I would have whiplash from the back and forth and all the "OMG WHAT JUST HAPPENED??" moments. The pacing, the background given, the details, and the surprises made this book unforgettable. I had never read a book with an unreliable narrator before, and I had to keep reminding myself not to take everything at face value. This added an interesting element to the story as I tried to figure out what was going on behind the scenes- and definitely failed! The ending definitely comes as a major surprise!

The Good: The pacing in this book is done really well. Different conversations give you different perspectives and there is enough background given to help you make sense of the plot, without being too much that takes away from the events that are occurring. Sometimes I find books that have so many plot twists sort of unbelievable, but in this case it kept me engaged and on the edge of my seat.

The Bad: There's a few parts that are a little confusing- I am so excited to see this as a movie, but I think if I hadn't read the book I would be confused while watching.

Overall: I could not put the book down and absolutely HAD to read more and find out what was about to happen. This represents a new genre (psychological suspense) that I have recently gotten into reading, and it set the bar high for future reads.
