I’m not usually into mystery/thriller/suspense/psychological novels, but this one was better than most. The plot was pretty captivating and rests on the ‘assumption’ that the reader may think they know everything about the protagonist, Vanessa, and her situation. However, we really know nothing. There are several twists and turns in the story that keep you guessing and on your feet. Vanessa is a divorced woman who used to be married to a hedge fund manager named Richard. When Vanessa discovers that Richard is planning to remarry, things go south. The story merged into a twisted love triangle in which no one knows what is about to happen.
I did find this novel to be a bit confusing at times, which is why I didn’t rate it higher. However, it is still a decent read that will please many fans of Gone girl and other thriller/psychological novels.
