3.5-4 stars, in my opinion. I was a bit confused during the first third of the book, but things became clearer as I read on. It's a very clever and unique story. It will take you inside a relationship and show you the awful, messed up side of some of them. As the books blurbs state, assume nothing, and that's exactly true. This is three stories in one and they are all equally twisted. I think I had been reading too many domestic suspense and this just got very mixed up in my reader's brain. This was another one where many of my book-ish friends raved about it, so I had high hopes. I was a bit let down. Lately there seems to be a trend of ever more multi-faceted stories, but I prefer a straightforward thriller.
