I love thrilllers. And occasionally, I like a little sci-fi also. From what I can tell, this looks to be like a perfect mix of the two!
We start off with a glimpse into Cora’s life. Seemingly normal at first - a regular morning filled with coffee, slippers, and feeding/walking the dog. But quickly we note that something very odd is happening in the background. Something which Cora only vaguely seems to realize. The reader, however, is left with zero doubt. Whatever is happening, it isn’t good. Someone has managed to get inside her head and very subtilely control her thoughts and actions. But what is the goal of this mind control? Who is behind it?
So in comes Jane, former FBI agent on the run. She apparently has answers to these questions - and her desire to bring the guilty party to justice has placed her and her son in danger.
It seems to be the start of a really fun, fast-paced and entertaining read. I was drawn in immediately and honestly want to see how it all plays out. Both Cora and Jane are characters that I quickly liked. Give me more!
