Am I missing out by not reading Book 1 first?
What caught me about this book blurb was that they "never banked on a highly trained FBI agent willing to go rogue." Yeah, let's Jason Bourne it up in here!
The first chapter got me excited because Cora is from Minnesota (hollah!) and then I realized Oh right, this is "A Jane Hawk novel," Cora doesn't make it. That's OK. I'll miss her fat weiner dog though.
The beginning of chapter two talks about Jane killing her friend and mentor in self-defense, and I had to check back and see that, sure enough, there is another book in the series before this one. I have concerns that I'm going to be left missing vital info by not reading the first book before this one, but I'm just interested enough that I'd read this one anyway, but not SO interested that I feel the need to go read book one first.
Not loving the cover, it's just some lady's eyes covered with a red film, and I don't feel like it gives me a good idea about what the book is about.
