Wow this is such a perfect book to read in October. Just make sure you read it with the lights on or you may not be able to sleep! This book was absolutely creepy, and the danger to Jake and Tom Kennedy felt very real the entire time. This story does a fantastic job balanced out the scary bits with wonderful family dynamics between father and son. Neither of them are perfect, but they love each other and they are definitely trying.
In my opinion, the best part of this book is the ending. There are twists that I didn't see coming and they had me setting the book down in surprise and delight. I won't give anything away here, but I will say that the author wraps everything up so perfectly that you will feel completely satisfied when you reach the end.
