This is a thriller that sends chills down your spine as you read because it is something that could happen anywhere in the world. It tells the story of kids being kidnapped and murdered and how that affects the different people within the story including the original detective. The author's writing makes it easy to follow the jumps between the past and present that are written into the story since the past is pivotal to what happens in the present. The characters are well-written and the relationships between them definitely play into the way the story unfolds. I wavered at times whether I liked a character or hated them due to something they did but every character played a role in how the story unfolds and they are all pivotal to it.
