The story of the Whisper Man is chilling and paranoia-inducing. After the death of his wife, Tom Kennedy moves himself and young son to a spooky new house in Featherbank. But this is not a haunted house story. Featherbank had a notorious serial killer of young boys twenty years ago. And it might be happening all over again. Except the killer is still in prison.
I loved how the book was from multiple POVs. The first person narrative was from Tom Kennedy, then had third person povs from others, including the killer, detectives, and Tom's son. I think that kept it fresh, and not stuck in one person's mind. I also liked how there was a "spooky house" but that wasn't the focus at all. It also keeps you guessing on if there is a paranormal aspect, or if it is just all thriller. It is dark and compelling, and while not mind-blowing, it is a riveting debut from Alex North.
