I realized very quickly that it was not a good book for me to be reading at night while I was home alone. I was getting really freaked out. Voices, abduction, scary sounds, unexplained imaginary people/ghost/who knows... it was a lot for this very wussy woman to read. So this was my daytime book and I read something much more uplifting at night.
Despite being horrendous in subject matter, this was a good book. If I was more into being terrified I might have given it 5 ⭐️, but being scared really slowed me down and for that reason I’m giving it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
“If you leave a door half open, soon you’ll hear the whispers spoken.
If you play outside alone, soon you won’t be going home.
If your window’s left unlatched, you’ll hear him tapping at the glass.
If you’re lonely, sad, and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you.”
If you can’t handle child abduction and murder, alcoholism, marital abuse, violence, and scary things... probably not the book for you. 🦋
