I easily enjoyed this book even though it was not as scary as I thought. It is much more focused on the relationships and the emotions of these people living with a serial killer among them. Slow moving yet still intriguing. There were some holes in the plot that I didn't think needed to be holes. I enjoyed the writing style and the "aha" moments in the story. I would categorize it as spooky but not too scary and not graphic. It said on the book jacket that the author had written previously under a different name. I'm going to research that because I think I would like to read more from him. Consider me intrigued. I found myself comparing this to The Chalk Man but without the graphic violence.
