The Whisper Man is a well-written and well-plotted mystery that suffered from poor marketing as the most terrifying read. You are instantly brought into Tom and Jake's world as they navigate life after the death of their wife and mother, respectively.

North delivers classic mystery tropes like creepy houses and town lore and does them well. The police procedural elements are well done and add to the story instead of taking away the focus. This book is told in multiple points of view from Amanda (the cop) and Tom. I really enjoyed that this story is told from the point of view of a single father, something I don't see much of in books.

Make sure you go into the read knowing that the book is not going to scare the socks off of you and you will enjoy it !
