I really liked this thriller/mystery/drama. A friend of mine described it as though “the sixth sense” meets “silence of the lambs” and I found that to ring fairly true. I found the difficult father son relationship trope to work well and loved that twist in the book where that relationship is revealed.
I never understood what Tom actually was remembering if it wasn’t what he thought he saw so that seems to be a mystery. I loved that he remembered finally who his imaginary night friend was.
All was good, I liked this book. BUT in the end I felt there was no justice at all. Yes the killer son of a serial killer got his in the end but only after said serial killer made him into a broken thing and possibly what he became. That bothered me. They both should have been visited by some sort of grim reaper.
