I heard that this book was really creepy and scared a lot of readers. It pumped me up to read this book and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. When I finally did read it, it didn't scare me as much as I wanted to. I found this to have an amazing plot, but I didn't feel that it was executed in the way I would have liked. When it comes to reading I really enjoy a plot driven book and this felt like it was a character driven book. These characters weren't characters that I could connect to. I didn't find them to be likable and it made it hard for me to care what happened to them. The only character I liked was the little boy in the story. The main part of this book is that there are mysterious killings/disappearences and we were told about them instead of showing us what happened. It took me out of the story because I wanted to see what was going on instead of being told about the events after they happened. Overall it was a decent read, but I felt like I could have been more engaged. The twist at the end I did not see coming.
