"If you leave a door half open, soon you'll heat the whispers spoken.
If you play outside alone, soon you won't be going home.
If your windows left unlatched, you'll hear him tapping at the glass.
If you're lonely, sad, and blue, the Whisper Man will come for you."
- Alex North, The Whisper Man

I was so excited to read this book, especially since I read it during fall. I am a sucker for a good thriller novel and this book hit the jackpot for me. Surprisingly, The Whisper Man followed more of a father/son relationship than I thought it would but it made for a great plot.

This book tells a story of a serial killer who has been whispering into windows of little boys and eventually he is captured and the town feels more at ease, however, the whispering starts again and the town is put back on edge as a young boy is taken. The father/son relationship this novel follows is of Tom and Jake. Tom, Jake's father, decides to move his family to a new town to get away from some drama in their lives. Jake's childhood trauma results in him having an imaginary friend, which is dismissed when Jake states that he starts to hear whispering. At this point in the book, I became extremely freaked out and could not read this book before bed. The ending will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Alex North did such a great job writing this book and I can't wait to see what else he ends up writing.
