I'm a big fan of suspense/thriller books and this one was a great one. The author manages to make child abduction and possible monsters even scarier than they already are. The thought of someone standing outside, whispering to your children and eventually taking them away is scary enough, but the thought that it spans decades with no resolution is terrifying. He was able to weave together stories from the past and the present and keep me interested in both timelines. As usual, I thought I was doing a pretty good job of keeping all the evidence in order and figuring out the ending, but I was definitely wrong with this one. I didn't see the ending coming AT ALL. The characters are flawed, but believable and the story has just enough twists and turns to keep you reading. I'd recommend this book to anyone that's looking for a new thriller to jump into.
