This book was a little outside my comfort zone. I do like to read mysteries and thrillers that are psychological. I'll even watch shows like criminal minds.

However! Reading a creepy book about kids going missing? Maybe a bit too far and it kept me up late at times.

The writing was pretty good. The plot overall was full of twists and turns, intrigue and suspicion. What more could I want?!

The only thing I was lacking was a little more character development. At times, characters felt a little flat, but that can also be a criticism of the genre as a whole. I'm used to epic fantasy worldbuilding where you get to know a character over 1500 pages! Leaves a lot more room for development and growth.

All in all, the book was a solid read and a nice change of pace. I'm interested in reading more by this author but I might have to have a break before I do that!
