I really enjoyed The Whisper Man—it was a good solid thriller/police procedural. Tom and his young son Jake move to a new home to get a fresh start, but unwittingly choose the town of Featherbank, where 20 years ago a horrific serial killer, The Whisper Man, terrorized the area. And now it seems like it’s beginning again. I enjoyed the characters & it was just the right amount of creepy. The writing was well paced with short chapters and alternating points of view, between The father, the son, and the detective, mostly. But what I also loved was the themes of family throughout—fathers and sons, loss and regret, love and redemption. And...not.
I wish there had been a little more back story on the original Whisper Man and his relationships, but overall it was excellent.
