I never understood the boogie man fear until this book. Let me just say, now I get it and I will not be keeping my window open after dark. This is the type of book that actually gives you chills and a pit in your stomach. I physically needed to take breaks to calm my heart and stare at memes of puppies in funny outfits.

It took about 80 pages for me to get into the story but after that I finished the rest that same night. It was a creepy journey with some truly evil players but it wrapped up with a satisfying ending. (This doesn’t seem to happen often so I appreciate any book that leaves me feeling content with an ending) There was also a side story between an adult father & son that touched my heart on a personal level and for that alone I’d recommend.
