This book kind of let me down. There was a lot of hype surrounding 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘯 and the description interested and attracted me. This book is about a father and son who move to a new home in a small town after the mother dies. The two, however, are unaware of the dark past of the town. Twenty years earlier a serial killer called the Whisper Man killed several boys after luring them by whispering at their windows. Soon enough d the father starts hearing his son talking to "himself" at night and a copycat starts following what the Whisper Man did all those years ago.

This thriller made me anxious at certain moments, but most of the book was actually boring. I am a huge fan of surprises and twists for endings, and the ending for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘯 was not what I expected, but it was not that exciting and left me feeling unsatisfied. However, there were twists relating to family and relationships that I really enjoyed. One thing I did enjoy was the multiple perspectives because it was interesting to hear the story from several different voices, and it kept me reading because I would need to read three more chapters to continue after a cliffhanger. The novel is narrated by five different characters. Some other aspects I enjoyed were the father's interaction with engaging with his son after his wife's death because there was a lot of tension between the two of them. I could still tell that they both still loved each other even if the father struggled to connect with his son.

In conclusion, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘔𝘢𝘯 let me down with the "thriller" elements, but the drama was excellent and really addicting to read about.
