I love this writing style. The prologue does exactly what it's supposed: it sucks you right into this story and ends on a provocative, cliffhanger sentence. The first looks tells the story of a town haunted by a real life monster, and the residents and detectives struggling their way through daily life. I want this book. I don't love the cover. A handprint is overused today, and I think they could have done better for this cover.
