This is a contemporary romance set in modern day Berkeley. Alexa and Drew get stuck in a elevator and she agrees to be his wedding date for the wedding of his ex. They had a great time and the wedding and all Drew’s friends enjoyed Alexa being there. After the wedding they each had to go their separate ways (Drew had to go back to Los Angels for work) but they kept in touch and continued to grow their relationship. Their unexpected friendship turned into a romance and the two quickly feel in love.
This was a sweet romance. I enjoyed their meet cute while being stuck in the elevator. A bad situation turned into a love story. This was a great summer read and I blew through the book in a few days!
