I'm a sucker for a good romance book with the fake dating trope so I really enjoyed this book. I loved the style the book was written in. I really enjoyed how the author switched back and forth between Alexa and Drew's perspectives. I also really appreciated the fact that the main characters were an interracial couple. I always appreciate when all people are represented in a book. I feel that definitely added to the character of the book.
I specifically enjoyed reading because of Alexa's character. She was ambitious, independent and funny. I always appreciate strong female characters in books so that definitely made this story more enjoyable.
I also really liked how the author made sure to shine a light on systemic oppression, which I imagine is a difficult thing to do when writing a romance novel.
