I finally grabbed The Wedding Date off of my shelf because I'm excited about the upcoming release of the author's next book in this "series," The Wedding Party, and I'm so glad I did! This is a great summer read. It had one of my favorite things to find in genre fiction: a main female lead that has as challenging, interesting job that she worked hard to get and is passionate about. I love the romantic passion in a romance novel but passion of all kinds is cool. I thought the author did a great job communicating the challenges in Alexa and Drew's relationship- the difficulties of getting to know someone long distance, of an interracial relationship, of learning to communicate. Read this one with snacks handy, too, because there are lots of delicious foods mentioned!
