One of my top ten favorite movies of all time is The Wedding Date with Debra Messing and Dylan McDermott. Beautiful girl hires an escort to her sisters wedding , and the groom is her exboyfriend. It would be safe to assume the author loved that movie too as this is following almost the same plot but in reverse. This is a light romantic book, quick reading with similar style to Nora Roberts or Debbie McComber. The author even picked a pediatric surgeon, Drew ( the main character ) who could have been pulled from the cast of Grey's Anatomy .It is also safe to assume the author was fond of Shondaland as the opening scene of the book the main characters get stuck together in the hotel elevator , and shocker several romantic scenes in Grey's Anatomy take place in the hospital elevator, and every couple had a important scene in the elevator. The excerpt was enough for me I give The Wedding Date 2.5 out of five stars, only because the author did a good job paying homage to a classic loved movie..I think I will go turn on Netflix and see if it is still playing.
