Can someone you just met be your date to a wedding?
The answer is yes! I read this book when for a change from my usual choice of genre and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!
The Wedding Date was my first read of Jasmine Guillory. If you are looking for a romantic quick read, then my friends, this book is a perfect choice ! The Wedding Date is funny, romantic, it also explores social evils like racism.
Alexa Monroe thinks through her every decision but on meeting the oh-so-handsome Drew Nichols, she makes a rather impulsive decision of going as a date to his best friend's wedding. While there is obviously some steamy moments, the book definitely doesn't have shortage of other emotions too. The author has described the discrimination in races in a manner that touches your heart. You feel the emotions raging through Alexa when she talks about her relationship with her elder sister.
The book also portrays long-distance relationships. It shows Drew as a kind, passionate pediatrician, one reason among many others, Alexa falls in love with him.
Overall, this book tells us that if we try, we can achieve anything, be it love or maintaining a long-distance relationship, be it our dreams and aims, irrespective of all the hardships we face in our lives.
