I only very recently got into these cutesy contemporary romances and I have to say, I do not understand why I haven't been into these before now! I'm loving this new direction with romance novels where they can be funny, sweet, and sexually positive, and also tell a great story. This had not been the case in my past experiences with romance novels, but I am glad to be proven wrong! Alexa was a great protagonist, witty and charming, smart as a whip, and crazy fierce. Drew was comically your basic guy who just doesn't get what he did wrong, but at the same time was the guy that was really sensitive and made sure to check that Alexa was okay. He was frequently forward thinking about their interracial relationship, and also very polite about asking permission for all the right things, and it was just lovely to behold. It was all too cute and funny. If I were to make a complaint, it might be that there was a bit -too- much sex (I mean, really, there was a LOT) but I also think that's kind of what fans are into the genre for! Plus Guillory wrote those scenes soooo steamy. Phew!
