Perfect for Cult Readers!
The Virtue of Sin is a YA fiction that tells a story from the perspective of two important characters, Miriam, who speaks her mind and tends to question everything and Caleb, who is a devout believer and as the reader you follow their lives in New Jerusalem with their leader, The Prophet, Daniel.
The novel builds off of the story of ZZyz which I thought was very interesting and added a nice touch of realism to a fictional story.
Caleb and Miriam along with their "brothers and sisters" have to go through a marriage ceremony where the boys pick their wives. Things start to go haywire within the community when some of the boys decide to say names that weren't assigned to them by their "Prophet."
The story follows Miriam as she begins to learn the truth behind all of Daniel's lies.
