SPOILER ALERT! 3.5 stars. When I read the description I thought this book was right up my alley. Teens in a cult ? Yes please. Schuren does a great job of easing us into the novel. The beginning is so intriguing and exciting to read, I couldn't put it down. I thought Miriam and Aaron were great characters. I liked how it wasn't a typical love triangle and I was genuinely surprised when Aaron was revealed to be gay. I wish more had been revealed about Marcus. He was a confusing character. I could never tell if he was good or bad. Caleb got on my nerves, butI think that was the point. If only he had just listened to Miriam. I also liked the end. It wouldn't have been realistic is everyone had left Children of Daniel or if an important character hadn't died. This was a quick and easy read. A sequel would be very interesting too.
