A world that is ingrained in you to be one way and you discover that absolutely nothing is true. That is what happens to our main character when she is wed to a young man because he called out her name. It was not the boy she thought she should wed but women have no say. To say that during the short time she is married that she becomes enlighten to the many faults on new Jerusalem would be an understatement. The characters are amazingly well thought out and you feel the shame, excitement and the journey they are each on.
This book may not be for everyone but I truly enjoyed every moment that it contained. To see some of the characters awaken was just remarkable. I swear I did not drink the Kool aid.
