What I like about this novel right away is the idea of someone breaking free of something they've known all their life. The whole marriage ceremony intrigues me, and I'm curious to find out more about this world. I'd really like to read more to find out how Miriam and Caleb are going to continue with this issue of marriage in their way. As for Miriam, she has strong opinions and I enjoy that about her character. The passages mentioned add a nice element to the story/world as well.

Also, I love the cover. The monarch butterfly in a different stance/color than all the rest really matches the idea of Miriam standing out and breaking free, whereas the others butterflies/people are pinned in place. The title of the book is also very compelling, the virtue of doing something wrong? The central idea is very well wrapped up in the title and book cover.
