Since losing her fiancée and parents in a terrible accident, Ava has put all of her energy into her work. She’s an engineer at a Scandinavian furniture company and her current project is a storage box called The Very Nice Box. Her life changes with the arrival of Mat Putnam, who changes company culture with his new ideas and, despite her reservations, Ava finds herself falling for him. The relationship starts to pull her out of her grief, but could it be too good to be true?
I found this to be an engaging story, I enjoyed the workplace setting and felt that it was a well-timed book. I think the less you know going in, the better the experience will be. Ava is an interesting character, her trauma is sensitively written, she seemed like a real person, not a character. I think this would work really well as a film adaptation, I’d love to see the setting come to life.
