The Very Nice Box follows a very quirky Ava Simon working as a product designer in a cult-like (yet very real, very possible) startup.

I like my books heavy, and as much heart and humor as this book contains, there were very serious themes underpinning the story throughout: grief and loss, sexuality, romance, trust and friendship. While I saw the twist coming from a mile away, I didn't might watching the anticipated story unfold. It was still suspenseful and dark, and carefully balanced with wit and humor.

I often read the book hoping to spot where Laura's writing ended and Eve's began. I could not. The narrative is seamless, and I hope representative of *both* their styles -- their writing came together beautifully. It's perfect for fans of Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine and The Rosie Project, but with queer representation. It was different than anything I've ever read, and I loved that experience!
