Laura Blackett's The Very Nice Box reminds me of an early 2000s web series called IKEA Heights and Grady Hendrix's novel Horrorstör. As the former title might suggest, the web series was filmed entirely within an IKEA store, while the later title is a horror story around a familiar flat-pack furniture store. The Very Nice Box, similarly, makes many references to the Swedish behemoth. Blackett's writing is funny and charming, and I look forward to reading the rest.
