What makes this book so interesting is the idea of a futuristic world in which water covers the Earth. It's not so far-fetched and feels like a real future you're peering into. The main character Tempe has valid reasons to want to bring her sister back from the dead and as the story builds up to that you can't help but find out what the outcome is going to be. The author writes so elegantly, creating a vivid atmosphere that the story takes place in. The world-building is spot on and she does a great job of explaining the state of affairs the world is in, helping you understand why things are the way we see them in the story. There is apparently a second main character, Lor, and his backstory is equally intriguing. I can't wait to find out what happens!
