I understand the heartache Tempe's hatred causes her. I've been there myself. Hate is only the flipside of love. It is possible to feel both at once, and also to feel guilty at the same time. I was beyond thrilled to receive an arc of this book. If I hadn't won, I was planning to buy it on release day. I think I connected so strongly with the story because I understand what it is to both hate AND love someone. It's like being at war inside yourself. Excellent character development and the world building is skillful. It's one of those books that's too dangerous to start at bedtime, because by the time you can tear yourself away, it's light outside, and you've finished the whole book. Very suspenseful. You definitely want to keep reading because you NEED to know what happens.
