While the cover is eyecatching, I am not sure that it is representative of the novel. I struggled to read this sample. The world building and narration both lack focus and organization. Rather than feeling curious, I was just confused. It's too bad, really, because the premise is interesting. The execution is sloppy. I wanted to like this, but I am relieved the sample is over.
