This book was great. I won it as an advanced reader copy and I’m so glad I win. The book starts out slow as the stage is being set. Not too many characters to keep straight (hate that!). Once the book took off, I could not put it down. There were lots of twists and turns which helped hold my interest. The book takes place during the war and not being a war buff, I can say thankfully it didn’t really go into the detail of war. The fact that a brother was lost at war and another came back under less than fair circumstances was really the only part that tied war to the book. Gibby is a character you can relate to and the author does such a great job making you feel for him and his circumstances. This was, in my opinion a well written book. I’ll definitely look for other books by this author.
