I discovered John Hart a few years back when I read Redemption Road. Needless to say, I was elated to read The Unwilling. This is an intense read. The Fletcher family has already lost one sone to the Vietnam War. When Jason, who also served in Vietnam, is released from jail; his younger brother Gibby wants to spend time with him. But when Jason's ex girlfriend is found murdered, he lands back in jail. Gibby knows his brother is innocent. Gibby and his friend Chance embark on a mission to find the truth. However, they find that the truth is more than they can handle. Will they save Jason or will Jason have to save himself? This book does contain some graphic violence and may not be for everyone. I found this to be a good family drama and suspense read all wrapped up in one. If you haven't read a John Hart novel, you are missing out! I recommend The Unwilling to anyone!
