First off, I loved the cover of The Tubman Command, it was strong and made me want to pick up the book right away. I enjoy historical fiction but I hadn't read a lot of books about Harriet Tubman before this one and I really enjoy it (I need to go pick up some more information/books about her now!).
I enjoyed the writing and I thought the plot moved along well, although there were a few spots where the novel slowed down a little to much for my taste. I really enjoyed the perspective of Tubman not only working against the South but had to also prove she as a woman had what it took to lead a team of scouts helping to free hundreds of bondsmen. It was an interesting addition to the plot and one I greatly enjoyed.
