Thank you to Bookish First and the publisher for providing me with a copy of The Tubman Command. This is one of those underrated books that I wish more people would read. As an African-American, I have always been fascinated and interested in the history of my ancestors. There was so much history packed into this book, but it didn't feel like a non-fiction or stale read. Of course, I know who Harriet Tubman was, but on a very superficial level. I felt like this story really allowed me to get to know who she was as a person, and her resolve was amazing. I felt inspired and proud of my ancestry (even more so than I already do) after reading this book. This is one I will definitely be recommending to my family and friends!
