I absolutely loved this story of Harriet Tubman. I remember learning about her work on the Underground Railroad in school, however we never discussed her work with the U.S. Army during the Civil War. This look into a different aspect of her life was so interesting and appreciated!
I loved Elizabeth Cobbs previous work, The Hamilton Affair, as well. That work is what made me so interested in reading The Tubman Command. Cobbs’ impeccable historical research brings great depth to these amazing characters from our nations past. It is so very important to know where we came from, and Cobbs’ writing keeps her reader engaged in the storyline.
