Not captivating enough
While this is not typically my type of book, I did enjoy how the author makes Harriet Tubman someone you can relate to in a way - while she is this amazing, powerful, famous historical figure, she too had to deal with a husband leaving her for a better option and all the feelings that go along with that.
However, it was hard for me to get into this excerpt as the way Septima's dialogue was written, I don't know enough about where she is from to really determine what she is trying to say half the time.
And personally, I think it would be more captivating if in the excerpt was more about her work as "Moses."
The book cover is amazing and truly eye catching!
